An Eye exhibition spotlighting avant-garde cinema from the US of the 1960s. During this period, artists revitalised the medium of film on a grand scale, using it as an artistic form. The work was no longer material to create feature films only, but rather repurposed as experimental material with which to explore the boundaries of film and art.
Eye’s exhibition space will feature a number of artists/filmmakers who are seen as trailblazers within this new artistic medium, including Stan Brakhage, Bruce Conner, Marie Menken, Shirley Clarke, Yoko Ono and Andy Warhol.
